I called this recipe as Original Chocolate Cake in my recipe book, cause it was the first recipe I made, not that because it’s the original chocolate cake existed ^^.

I love this recipe because of the consistency of it’s scrumptious taste every time I made it. I made this cake more often than any other cakes so far. I got the recipe from my aunt, but the recipe I used now was change a bit, for difficulty to find one of the ingredients here in germany, by using suggestion from my mother. It tastes the same if not better ^^. It was also the first cake I made in germany.
I hadn’t make this cake for quite some times already, so I thought a comeback would be appropriate.

Together with Asi and Hakim, we baked this cake for Ben’s birthday party and brainstorm some Idea for the Cake decoration. We had some crazy Idea but it looks kind of difficult to make, so at the end we decided for ‘B’ form, b for ben ^^. I’m more confidance with my chocolate tempering now, although I did have to start it again at some time when making it. We were late because of me ^^.
Original Choc Cake
Ingredients:
350g castor sugar (sometimes I used icing sugar to speed things up)
180g butter (at room temperature)
3 eggs
200ml milk
1 tsp instant coffee
50g cocoa
1 tsp vanilla extract
225g flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
Directions :
Preheat oven to 190° C and place rack in the center of the oven. Prepare one 23cm diameter Springform, bottom and side buttered, lined with parchment paper. Set aside.
Using a mixer, beat the butter and sugar until creamy, add egg one by one into the mixture, add the next egg only after the previous one incorporates into the mixture.
In a different bowl, mix milk with cocoa and coffee until fully incorporate.
Pour the cocoa-milk mixture into butter-sugar-eggs mixture slowly while mixing on slow speed. Add the vanilla extract.. Mix until fully incorporate.
Sift flour together with baking powder and baking soda. Combine the flour mixture into the batter in the mixer until well mixed.
Pour the batter onto the prepared cake pan and bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake come out clean.
